Nanasi DESU NO!!!

Ok after finishing today's bloody Ancient Chinese history midterm/test (very time constrained, 12 paragraphs = 4 minutes per paragraph = no time to think) I can find a little time to talk about the Duel Savior Demo.

In short, this thing rocks.
It's a wacky hybrid of sidescroller/beatemup/fighting game, using the numpad (shame on you Giga can't you change to godamn arrow keys already) and the standard 'z' 'x' 'c' key interface you see a lot in Japanese games.

You have two air dashes (forward forward/back back) and two normal jumps (up up).
None of the dashes count as a jump, so it's not like if you jump twice you can't dash twice, (unlike ggxx).

'z' is your good old weak attack, chainable into itself (but pushes the monster away so unless your point blank to a large monster you're max of these usually is 4-5, possible in air).
Forward 'z' is a kick, again possible in air, however usually I do it by mistake coming out of a dash so I forget to combo after it.
Can not chain into itself, but I think can chain into 'x' moves in both the ground and air.
Down 'z' is a wacky staff pole maneouver which I believe mini-launches (hard to follow up mini launch with actual air to air combo moves)
Cancels I think into down 'x' but not the neutral 'x's, at least not normally.
Air down 'z' is a jump in multihitting hammer, very good for continuing chains after an aircombo (after beating the crap out of enemy, forego the usual combo finisher and instead just continue with a hammer to OTG)

'x' is your good old strong attack, chainable into itself 3 times, 3 time launches.
Air neutral 'x' is a spear that multi hits in the air, I think you can combo from after it without cancels but I'm not too sure (via your second jump maybe?)
Forward 'x' is a charged punch, VERY GOOD for covering distance/getting away/whatever.
Air forward 'x' has even less delay for its forward punch, is even better at running away, pretty good jump in too.
(Runaway strat is double jump, diagonally away from monster you want to run from, double air dash, then jam forward 'x's. You will traverse the screen in no time.)
Down 'x' is an axe launcher.
I usually just do this after down 'z', it launches monsters after the minilauncher of down'z'.
Air down 'x' is a dive bomb...literally.
Your character takes out a bomb and dives with it for multi-hits.
USUALLY used as a combo ender, but against the headless rabbit chick I USE IT A LOT just to cancel her weirdo autoguard(one hit or so?) combo counter self.

'c' is guard.
Forward 'c' is roll, back 'c' is backhop/step, 'c' at last second cancels your guard frames significantly.
Up 'c' is weirdo move called highjump, I think THIS is the jump you want for air combo chasing, instead of just the regular jump.
I always mess up the timing on this, cause it's the frikkin guard key and I never expect it.

'z' and 'x' together are supers.
Neutral zx is a flashier version of the neutral x times 3 launcher combo, way more hits, I'm not exactly sure if you can chase the launches at the end of the flashy finisher but probably.
Forward zx is a punch super, think the forward x.
One hit, bounces off wall (if you're good you can continue comboing, if you're me you can't), QUITE a bit of damage if it connects.
Down zx is an axe super...very weird hit properties on this one, it raises earth? stones up to hit your enemy in a deceptively large area, however I rarely land this directly (I use it on Nanasi to keep her away or catch her in the blast radius).
I am VERY unsure if this launcher is followable, she seems to fly too high then fall too fast.
Air neutral zx is a super version of the spear, hits more, I think definitely comboable normally (no cancels) after the last hit.
Air forward zx is the air version of the punch super, use like air forward 'x' or to combo finish, GOOD DAMAGE.
Air down zx is a bomb super, multiple bombs all over the place, they cover you while you cough from the dust.

Cancels:
You can cancel any normal it seems into ANOTHER normal for one red diamond (You generally start off with 3 diamonds, unfull)
You can cancel any normal into a super for 2 red diamonds, it costs 3 red diamons if the normal is generally uncancellable (Think combo enders like the dive bomb.)

Simple huh?
The demo would lead you to believe that...except screenshots of those wacky Japanese.
500+hit combos, the highest scores 3rd 2nd 1st being around 5.5k for 3rd and 2nd and 55k for 1st.
Yes not a typo, 55k.
He overloaded the digits!
WTF.
I can't even fathom how that works, and I even asked a random english guy living in Japan who had been to the playtest and saw a 400+ combo in action.
I don't think he knew either XD.

Atama, atama ga?

Tweaks here and there, I noticed my previous posts just seemed to get in the way, links and two new sections (blogs and fyaf moved up to more prominent positions.)
Basically FYAF is going to be the sum of all those random stupid links I spam to you people on my buddy list: this includes: brennan jazzy noob lilyes tanzy yilei rinara zed lah and god knows who else.
I'll probably rotate it when it hits a max backlog of about four-six. (I like even numbers.)

Also started adding some blogs, starting with the first two that came to my mind.
Heh, feeble attempts to wave some social tendrils. (Link me back Lawrence if you care to.)

Anyway I would do a more indepth post about my first FYAF, that being the Duel Savior demo, but it's 5:20am and I'm studying hardcore ancient Chinese history.

FATARU AROU!

Well, I beat Chitose's section of Galaxy Angel: Eternal Lovers. (One of those weird Japanese relationship/tactical?/space sim? games, where your relationship affects how your units fight? Nothing dirty though, GA's pretty clean.)
What can I say...my roommate HATES the yamato nadesico (traditional Japanese woman)image, and with good reason, cause geez christ some STUPID shit happens in Chitose's arc.
Still I found her sweet enough to play through with, although I seem to be missing a scene.

The battles were ridiculously easy UNTIL a certain point.
Then they become "pretty" easy.
Up until a certain point, I had subscribed to a "Get as many points as you can and crush everything, regardless of objectives" method of play.
Nothing too hard, even when Galaxy Angel 7 showed up.
Ironically, it was Unit 7's "advanced" AI that let me exploit it.
Traditional AI in GA went something like this: MOVE STRAIGHT TOWARD ELSIONE, IGNORE GIRLS ON HIGH COMPLETELY TAKING ME APART.
Understandedly, GA7 gave me my first REAL scare, as it is FAST (maybe as fast as Sharpshooter or Happy Trigger), and powerful as all hell.
The thing is, it's AI actually RUNS AWAY when low on life.
Meaning it'd fly straight for my mothership (You lose it, game over), I'd recall all my angels (the six girls/ships I control using crazy tech)to beat the UTTER CRAP out of it, and it'd run away.
So I could still crush all the other units on the map while harassing it.
After that, there were still no problems, in fact in later missions you get Allies, meaning the only obstacle to killing everything is well, having THEM kill something weak, like a fighter.
Admittedly, later it IS rather hard trying to play for score, as some of the missions become rather time constrained and your allies are blasting more things than they should.
But still really easy.

That all changes in the last battle.
I personally think if they set it up like this in the last half of the game I'd have enjoyed it more.
Basically, you have allies, but even then, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL YOU CAN KILL EVERYTHING in 15 minutes.
Hell forget killing everything in 15 minutes, forget killing HALF in 15 minutes.
What you basically have in this mission is a Galaxy Angel 7, cept with 1000 times the hitpoints, twice to three times as powerful, AND SINGLEMINDED.
The mission objective is to kill him.
No, it's not really number GA007 (Vine's already died in your care), and it is slightly slower, but my god.
First off, the avenues of escape (two asteroid formations) have fighters (paper planes) and A HEAVY BATTLESHIP AND HEAVY CRUISER each behind them.
Meaning, if you decide to run Elcione up or left (which is the first instinct because...described later), your Angels have to somehow punch through this pair of ridiculously high hp ships.
Add this to the fact that the BOSS goes straight for you.
He spends like 1 second if he hits an ally, vaporizes him, and continues.
There is no running from him, he never runs away.
What ended up happening the first two or so times I lost and numerous restarts was this: I'd try to get Elcione to one of the asteroid formations so I could play merry go round with the Boss.
My angels would fly ahead, destroy most of the paper planes, TAKE A WHILE on the heavy battleship and heavy cruiser, and by that time, Boss man would have caught up to me AND new reinforcements would have appeared where I was running around, namely ANOTHER HEAVY CRUISER in each escape zone.
So I'd get pincered, Elcione would die, and the end.
There was another thing to note, while I was concentrating on survival, the MAIN mission objective was to KILL this thing in 15 minutes.
The thing was a godamn tank.
Forte's super barely scratched it, Milfeuille's did a respectable amount if she was CONTINUALLY LOCKED, Ranpha's didn't do that much, MINT'S was unpredictable, and Chitose's was respectable damage.
Anything else did piddlings.
So in fact the crush here was twofold.
EFFING SURVIVE and DEAL ENOUGH DAMAGE.
Considering the large amounts of OTHER shit flying about to help you fail the first objective, I'd sometimes completely forget the second one.

So to finally beat the mission, I had to change my playing style.
Instead of making a break for the asteroid fields...I just took a gamble and had Elcoine run into the WAYYY back of the starting corner of the map.
It would take a while before the mass of Heavy ships and mister boss man would get there (if they got anywhere near it though I'd have no way to run and be dead in like 30 seconds).
Then, I ran the angels UP THE MIDDLE and went for as MANY weakling fighters/attackers/noncapital ships as I could.
These things are paper thin, and die within 30-one minute at most.
Basically after clearing out all the fighters in the middle (I left the capital ships so the angels were taking periodic damage from them, but no time to really concentrate on them) I had them all focus on the boss.
And fired every bloody super within the span of two minutes.
Some twice (thanks Ranpha/Chitose).
I won with about five minutes left, but my mothership had amazingly suffered no damage, cause it was wayyyyy down in the corner.
THIS is the only battle in the GAME where the mission objectives are dire and important enough to warrant completely forgoing anything else.

Also of note is my grasp on the story is ridiculously tenuous at best. Honestly my Japanese picked up a lot more than I think it would but I guessed half the time. (How is Vine from Val Fasc AND Eden? How exactly did Chitose forget her feelings for you? etc etc etc.)

The omake is awesome. You unlock of course battle mode (replay all battles of one girl's scenario) and you can replay them normally or IN FIRST PERSON/COCKPIT VIEW. Meaning I can control Chitose myself, fire her weapons, super, fly around, etc. That alone rocks, in fact I'm sort of annoyed that the main game didn't allow this option.

Still though, I'm going to have to take a break from trying to find that missing CG and playing through with a different girl. I spent a lot of time on this game surprisingly and well, all the major projects I have assigned are due soon.

Flash mob

Lifted from Lah, once again.
Hilarious? Not sure, but it's a good short story.

What makes you so special?

Wow
Just wow. The perspective in here is riveting, and scary at the same time.
The amount of politics and fragile ground the government had to tread is mind-boggling.
They had to prevent people from suing...for what?
That they couldn't prevent planes from smashing into towers?
And now you have this mess of compensation and what makes these victims so much more special than other terrorism victims.
And the greed and money fights...sickening.

Obviously free hosting for 9999999 pictures was going to give in at some point, and now I can see how it's slowing down picture upload times.
Ah well, can't you get anything for free on the internet anymore?
No, not those godamn iPod offers you bastards.

FUCK

FUNimation Anime Weekend Atlanta Announcement (11:21 AM EST): According to information received from our contacts at FUNimation, they announced at their 10 AM panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta this morning their acquisition to the domestic distribution rights to Gonzo's latest series, Samurai 7.

FUCK YOU FUNIMATION.
That is all.

You were killed by $Ladyevil$

Heh, nothing like the ridiculous sense of accomplishment at having done something so utterly worthless and small and stupid but yet awesome at the same time.
What did I do you ask?
I pulled off a trick jump in Prisoner in Halo PC not once, but three times!
Go me, go me, go me...yeah I'm sad.
But still I have a feeling of accomplishment.
Also in a ridiculous CTF on Battlecreek, my teammates finally listened and we pulled off the old "throw the flag through the roof routine" at least 3 times or so.
One time I managed to throw it onto the roof without a teammate being there...he got it later.

New singlerplayer game...Galaxy Angel.
It was a love sim yes (Not H though), and I like the characters and their designs (they're an anime after all).
Chitose is...awesome.
Anyway I'm playing the third one in the series, I have very little to no knowledge what is going on cause it's all in Japanese, but it still rocks.

I...want to kill this man so badly I can't stop

Ok Heihachi is quite a dual faced character.
He said he usually cut wood, in fact he told Gorobei he never cut a person...
BUT he seems to slip into the role of killing people with no problem.
On top of that he seems the harshest when it comes to betrayals, immediately going for his sword on Nodoka...
To top it off, in 12, he's REALLY mad at the peasant, and even states his desire to chop his head off quite plainly.
The fact that he SMILES ALL THE TIME with those damn niko nikos ^_^ just makes it weirder.
Does he have some issues?
Cause a normal woodcutter wouldn't make a jump to being a merciless samurai so fast...

A Child Can Not Beat A Man

(Is it me or did the toggle for bold grow from bracketsboldbrackets to some wacky span style = value thing)

Second anime review is Samurai 7. This is an adaptation? of Akira Kurosawa's original film The Seven Samurai. I googled this film, turned up its IMDB page, and along with it, A GIGANTIC FUCKING SPOILER. Curse you IMDB for having that right on the movie's fucking front page. Now I'm not sure how closely the anime will follow the film (40 bandits has become 40 no-buseri, these gigantic mecha things which are simply outrageously cool), but all the names are already completely identical. Plus according to those who have seen the original film, the characters are falling into their movie roles as they mature.

Ok, to me, who has never seen the original, this series is good. It's done by Gonzo, home of the big disappointment yes, but hopefully they won't screw it up knock on wood. The series really is good at depicting each samurai's character, and the peasants of the village they are defending aren't just "save me jebus peasants." Rather they're human, and scared, and well...rather pathetic at this point. (Let's go hire samurais and kills nobuseri...oh noes the nobuseris knows! Let's hope the samurais dont come! Oh noes they came!) But I really like how the character designs (borrowed as they were, even for the shifty peasants), are turning out. One slightly bad thing though, all the names are exactly the same, meaning there's no easy to remember shinji ikari crap here. You got seven main guys, plus kirara/rikichi/komachi, and it's sortta hard remembering their names. From left to right in the main smoke picture:

Katsushiro is the newbie. He's a samurai by birth, but he's never been on a battlefield (Kirara passes over him initially because she doesn't smell blood on him even though he saved them in the city.) He's a ladies man...but it's sort of obvious who he likes (Kirara). He also views Kanbei as his master and looks up to him. He hasn't killed anyone yet. (Bwahaha that's changeeeed) I have to say him and Kikuchiyo really play well off each other, cause you got a guy who's pretty bad/useless with the sword and someone who's ok with it...but completely careless. The odd couple, for sure.

Kikuchiyo is the clown. He's NOT a samurai by birth (which means he technically can't be one), he has a stolen lineage scroll and can't read his own name on it (If that's you, you're a girl. or if that's you, you're 10 years old!), carries a gigantic sword, but he can fight. He's also a machine-samurai, another thing that sets him apart. Kanbei has not acknowledged him yet as a samurai, because he really isn't. He often gets into trouble and is a little dull in the head, but he's hilarious. Plus he has this exhaust pipe nears where his neck/mouth would be and when he's mad it whistles. He and Komachi get along really well.

Kyuuzou is the perfectionist. He is BETTER than Kanbei, he dual weilds swords, and he was pitted against the group at first. Having fought Kanbei, and wanting him alive (To kill), he went against his masters and is no longer welcome with them...so he joins. This guy is GOOD.

Kanbei is the man, the general, the leader. He was a general in a war that was lost (evidentally he failed or something), and is now commanding six samurai to defend a village. He views it as a war with little reward and no glory, but he is the leader nonetheless. Respected by everyone, even Kikuchiyo, even though he hides it.

Gorobei is the entertainer. He became one after the last war ended and samurais had no way to eat. He is lively, and constantly making wagers. (I bet if I can catch that arrow before it hits me, you'll treat me to dinner.) He also has a freaky side...he seems to get off on dangerous things (arrows being shot at him, getting cut, etc.) But he has a sense of humor, and this pair of zoom binocs!

Shichiroji was once Kanbei's right hand man (He's the pilot you see in the opening sequence of the first episode), but after the war (Another failed general?) he settled down as...a dancer inside a pleasure quarters house...or something like that. He is the ONLY one who does not fight with a sword, rather he uses this weird polearm type deal. He also has a woman who saved him from death...and they were almost going to be an item...but she knows he wants one last war. So he leaves his settled-down comfortable life to join his former comrade and fight some nobuseris.

Last we have Heihachi. I admit if there is an enigma on this team, it's this guy. And yes he looks like he should be in Last Exile piloting a vanship. He's the techie, and good with machines. This guy has the constant niko niko face, his eyes don't open. (Wait once they did). He has also never killed anyone before, but he is very good at chopping wood. ONCE HE HITS COMBAT, he comes across as surprisingly good...though it's hard to tell if he still hasn't killed anyone. (The things he chops apart so far are small nobuseris, i.e. men riding these little tin can mech type deals...he splits those without killing the guy inside.) Anyway I say he's an enigma because while he does have a sense of humor and almost always smile, there's one episode where they find out a woman has passed information on them to the nobuseris. Heihachi INSTANTLY reaches for his sword and asks...so what do we do about the woman. He also OPENS HIS EYES at this time...and he's not smiling here. This was rather frightening and out of character, cause I mean it's a woodcutter who hasn't killed anyone suddenly saying that we need to remove the spy, even if she was forced into it. Anyway Kanbei says "It is not a samurai's role to judge." which stops him pretty quickly. I sort of wonder how this guy will turn out...

Kirara is a dowser who went to look for samurai on the village elder's request. A bit of research confirms she was not in the original seven samurai movie. She's strong, but yeah she's a pretty normal woman (i.e. she doesn't fight, she got saved only once so far so she's not tooo helpless, she takes care of them if they're hurt, etc.)

Komachi is Kirara's sister. Little cute brat. She and Kikuchiyo (Kiku man, as she calls him) really hit it off. Both enjoy teasing the crap out of Katsushiro.

Rikichi is the guy who went along with Kirara to help find samurai. He DID exist in the old movie it seems, and his wife was taken by the nobuseri to ensure peace. When he seems them he gets very irrational and angry, because he feels helpless that he let his wife be taken away. You feel rather sorry for this guy.

Now it bears mentioning about the mecha, which for some reason has immediately pissed off the losers in the anime club. The series really isn't mecha based, just the no-buseri are fucking beautifully rendered mechs. More like steampunk? but not quite is the technology level. Guns are indeed shown, and they seem to be prevalent as ever, as the lead samurai says "We can not win against guns." (Swords vs guns debate!) But the cg is really nicely done, the mechs are really cool looking (even if they are made of tin foil)

So, after watching 11 episodes, I say two thumbs up! Only time will tell if Gonzo screws up yet another one!

When a bird dies there is grief, when a fish dies there is none.

I just finished watching an incredibly blurry (read handcam) version of Ghost in the Shell 2. Let's see...well first off I'm getting ever more confused about the canon-worthiness of the animated material based on the manga Shirow wrote. I mean I have not seen the second half of the tv series (licensing issues), I have only seen bits and pieces of the original movie, but the second movie is...almost taken straight out of a story from the FIRST manga compilation by Dark Horse. Granted, there are a bazillion differences, such as Motoko is already just a ghost without a body (fused with the puppeteer already), but I mean the underlying case is the same, love dolls with dubbed ghosts going berserk (Girls ask one of the inspectors to sabatoge the robots to get a message out.) Some other changes is that the factory lies in a gigantic submarine and the process of hunting it down takes quite a few side roads, including going through the mansion of an old hacker who starts looping Batou and Togusa's memories.

Also..one of the last lines Batou said...in the manga is "Did you think noone would get hurt?" which refers to the human victims (who admittedly were using slave dolls from shady sources.) However, in the movie, Batou's line changes to "Did you think of the victims, not the humans who were killed, but the robots who did not want ghosts?" This is what my topic refers to...as it means those without voices get sympathy, those without can not.

It's hard thinking of this movie as a continuation, just because so many story elements are the same as the story in the FIRST ghost in the shell manga volume. I guess I have to see the actual first movie and maybe the rest of the animated series. AND I have to start attempting to translate my Manmachine Interface or wait for others to do it.

On the issue of robot and human...there's quite a bit of talking about it, and I guess this case is as good as any to start examining the differences. But geez even the tv show had their version of this story (ghost dubbing), except it was a Che Guevara guerilla type figure who was being copied.

I guess I found it hard to really enjoy the deepness of this movie, precisely because of the rehashing of the main plot, and also because the definite lack of Motoko. Ghost in the Shell Manga 2 Manmachine interface is almost completely about her and her new form, and I really want to read and understand it. (Unfortunately the Japanese is ridiculous.)

It is pretty though, and for people who haven't read the original manga back to front over and over (it's like one of my oldest ones) it's a good plot.

Taiwan 101

Greetings from Taiwan fools. Anyway I'll have pictures and whatever up. Turns out one of my cousins (he's already graduated) plays ro...a pity I don't have his password to see his characters. Anyway you know what's fun?

Waiting four hours inside an airplane to take off cause JFK is completely rained out. That's fun. I managed to beat bomberman in my supreme boredom. It also screwed up our transfer flight so we got to stay in Japan for one day free. Cept we had to wake up at 6am and we got there at like 10pm so there wasn't that much to do. I just took dorky pictures anyway of stupid things.

Taiwan is hot. Not humid though, which is good and makes the heat somewhat variable. The food is good we went to the former president's favorite dumpling house.

Anyway it has come to my attention that my grad cousin bots. That's why his computer is DAMN SLOW NOW CAUSE HE'S RUNNING THREE AT A TIME. Haha oh geez what can I say in broken Chinese that indicates "You suck."

edit: what the fuck blogger? you still didn't post this? I swear I published this.

How many pins on an AMD K6?

My A+ certification exam got postponed till...well Tuesday/today because prometric's servers were down so I couldn't get my testing ID (conveniently never sent in email for some reason) and I couldn't call them because it was a weekend. Anyway my mom went apeshit yesterday when I couldn't register IMMEDIATELY again, so today early morning I think she got on the phone to prometric and gave them hell, cause I took the exam today at 4pm. I passed too. Barely. Wayyyyy too many CPU questions there, I thought I'd have like 2-3 questions at most. Panicked too and forget that Pentium II is Slot 1, Pentium Pro is Slot 8, AMD Athlon is Slot A, etc. etc. etc. I'm also godamn miffed that they only tested slot to cpu, cause I memorized all the SPEEDS of their fucking external/internal buses instead of their sockets. What else...oh right, RAM. Ugh 168 and 184 pins...I should have known that. There's an entire list of crap I should have gotten but forgot in the spur of the moment...but at least I passed.

The Operating Systems section of the test is only four chapters in the review book compared to like...seventeen. I'm pretty optimistic (it's WINDOWS, how hard can it be? =D) that I'll pass it when I take it.

Anyway Taiwan tomorrow, la de da. I'm packing...not really.

YOU GOT POKERSTARRED

BZZZT

Happy birthday Kenny!

Or something like that. Anyway Kenny's 19, one away from 20, woopdedoo. I got him...nothing...cause in our house we don't really celebrate birthdays. Same with other holidays. Yeah yeah before you make your judgements...ah what the hell make your judgements.

2x
iRO 2x...time to sleep with the bots.

A+
Shit I have 2 more days...I gotta blaze through the review book pronto.

Evo 2004
Holy shit CLICK HERE NOW Unfucking believable...Even if Justin Wong is a dirty turtling whore, if he revives 3rd strike in the USA, what's to hate? Seriously though Daigo was down a set and that close to elimination...DAMN. Justin's turtle must have gone up 99 notches. Props for him being a cross-game player, even if he turtles in EVERY SINGLE ONE. (MvC2 not really, you can call it "studying the opponent" if you will.)

FAILURE

What the hell...Kenny got the stupidiest fat guy in the entire driving department.  He did everything perfectly...up until he met the stalled car.  Anyway he comes to a four way intersection, stalled car in opposite side/lane.  So the guy is like make a right turn, so Kenny does, cept there was a car BEHIND the stalled car that sped up right as he was making his turn.  This car had come AFTER kenny to the FOUR way stop sign intersection.  Anyway the stupid fat guy was like oh you should have fucking YIELDED to that car, drops four violations and Kenny fails.  Excuse me fucker, I thought at a four way stop sign the car that comes after goes AFTER.  This isn't a fucking STACK, no last in first out shit here.

Driving to Newburgh, Part II

wahaha.  Tomorrow is Kenny's (younger brother 1) road test, so guess who getes to wake up at like 6-7 to drive to an 8:30am test in Newburgh.  Me.  Not that I mind, considering my sleep schedule lately has been late to bed and early to rise cause I'm actually taking a 3 hour nap where my 8 hour sleep block should be.

I feel this A+ review book insults my intelligence, and yet the author does it in such a helpful way that I can't hate it.

End of an Era

Luminescence, my first Ragnarok guild and the one I have been in for over a year, is officially dead.  It is rather sad how we lost our core, and after that it was sort of a flimsy shell.  Well I'm in .hack now, we'll see how that turns out.

Formatting error
When did google put all these formatting keys in?  I'm so used to doing the crap myself, you know " " for bold, etc.  Geez I already broke the bold button on this thing, now it bolds when the button is not depressed.  I'll be sticking to manual for a bit longer if this is how things are going to turn out.

Fulltilt
To continue my so called gambling "training" induction, I watched Ocean's Eleven (nothing with gambling and all about theft), Rounders (nothing with theft and all about "gambling"), and started reading Bringing Down the House.  The amateur mocked in two of these three mediums?  That's me.  It was funny though how in Rounders, which I have never seen in my life, I already knew what was going to happen when I saw the first hand.  Matt Damon was going to get OWNED by pocket rockets.  There this funny theme that runs through both Rounders and Bringing Down the House, it's the insistence that "It's not gambling."  And yet it is, in two very different ways.

The reason why hold'em is popular is fuckers/morons/noobs can get pocket rockets and rape your full house with a higher one of his own.  That's luck/gambling to counter the skill.  It is true that if you're playing cherries it doesn't matter how the cards fall, you're going to kill them.  But playing another pro OR EVEN a remotely skilled player...well if Teddy KGB gets pocket A's and that kind of flop, you're gone.

Blackjack is not gambling, not for a genius from MIT who can memorize everything and cut to a chosen card on a dime.  To turn such a percentage against the house, it means the longer you play THE more the house loses.  But it STILL is gambling, cause you're trying not to get caught.  It's not illegal to count cards, but it's still gambling, cause it's how much can you legitimately make before getting kicked out and blacklisted from that casino.

You can't make a left from the right lane. Watch me.

Long three parter.
First part, well I met Peter's friend Al. Godamn, if only his family had moved here earlier. But yes his parents no doubt have decided to move into Spackenkill to send their brood (it's a lot of kids I forget how many) to the oh so great elementary/middle/high schools. AHAHAHAHAHAHA ok yeah. He is a damn cool guy, just a fucking horrible driver and a Linux nut (which isn't bad, it just might turn off you BSD people =D) Also he's a very good programmer I bet, which brings up the fact that PETER HAS NEVER HEARD OF A FUCKING MAKEFILE. Seriously. Fucking project maker programming apps, they make it all so layered with bullshit. Also it seems Al never gets mad. Annoyed maybe, but not mad. I couldn't say the same for his girlfriend, cause he tortured us all with his driving in that car. By the way it was to go see fireworks, which lasted 5 minutes. Which was lose, so we went to a diner (sound familiar) and ate things.

Kaze yo
Peter lent me Soul Calibur II. I unlocked everything in two days. I love Talim, and I started looking up more information on serious play. From what I'm seeing, the entire tier system is trash, because the former number one unbeatable person was Dan the Nightmare using...Nightmare. And then Aris trained VOLDO and completely schooled Dan in the world championships. So you have Nightmare, who's pretty low on the tiers, and Voldo, who's like what low-mid? as first and second in the world. Fourth is a asian french girl under 18 o.Oa who uses Xianghua and TALIM. I <3 Talim, even if she's bottom tier. Screw you tiers! But yeah I beat the entire weapon master with Talim, never switched once even for one stage. Go me. As a result I like to say I can sort of do well with her. (Hahaha what I mean to say is that I can kick the crap out of Mike and Pete with Talim...but only her. Although my button mashing Killik can get the best of Peter's Killik sometimes.)

Marvel vs...ccg?
Like near the beginning of the week Kenny was whining to go to Dragon's Den but I was tired, so Brady picked him up. I followed later. Turns out they were holding a demo session of a new ccg, Marvel vs. It was...FUN. It's creature based combat that doesn't suck cock like Yugioh but borrows from both Yugioh and Magic. (By the way yugioh is all about control now, oh no what a strategy shift...fuck that it's still a pathetically worthless game.) Anyway one thing I sort of like is there's no such thing as mana screw. You started with four cards, you draw two every turn, and every turn you can lay down ANY card in your hand face down as a resource. Think mana. Oh yeah you draw simultaneously, whose "turn" it is, is basically whose inititive it is, i.e. who attacks first. Yes the guy without inititive gets to attack after the first guy does. Anyway you have two rows for both players of characters, front row and back. You can't hit a char in the back if someone's in the front covering him, and the guy in the back can support the one in the front. All characters trample. Both players have 50 life points, and anyway combat consists of choosing which of an opponents uncovered back characters or front characters to attack. Unless you have flying/range, which lets you attack what you want. Characters don't get "killed" they get stunned, meaning flipped over. Every round at cleanup you can choose one stunned character to flip back. Oh yeah you can't attack an already stunned character and stunned characters you can't flip back up get koed/discarded. You can also only have one type of any character on the board, if you have a different version you must discard the previous one. (Unless the character has the "army" attribute, i.e. SENTINELS) You can also discard an exact version of any card on the board as an instant to add +1/+1 to the char in play. Instants are plottwists, basically remember those resources you put down? If you have a plot twist resource you can flip it face up to use it one time to add bonuses or do special things. Same with territories, cept they are usually continuous once flipped face up. Min deck is 60 cards, only 4 duplicates allow of any card unless it has army attribute, in which case unlimited.

Some thoughts. There are plenty of 20/20s or what not for like 10 resource, but the thing is the game is usually over by turn 7 BECAUSE both sides will never miss a resource drop. If you get a drop higher than your opponents, it is a VERY serious threat and can steamroll anything weaker he has. Also if any character gets stunned, the owner loses the resource cost in life points. Add this to trample damage (everyone tramples) and people can lose a LOT of life fast.

Let's use an example of Berserker Rage Wolverine. Wolverine can untap whenever he stuns a character of 3 or less resource. He's like a 15/something. Seeing as you can CHOOSE any front line characters, a wolverine vs say...a sentinel deck with all 1 resource characters...will attack a sentinel, deal 15 damage (1 resource for the sent, 14 trapmle), UNTAP, and can attack again. This way he can deal easily over 50 damage in a single turn.

I use this example because the cheesiest crap I've seen so far is of course Kevin Poncelet's Sentinel deck. These little buggers all cost one or four, can all gang up (yes gang up attacks exist, just choose a group of people to smack one guy) and can SUPPORT each other. A note about support. If you have a character in the front who gets stunned, a character in the back row DIRECTLY behind him can tap itself to prevent the trample damage. Meaning you can beat on the sentinels, Kevin will take one damage, the rest of the trample gets nullified if there's a sentinel in back of the one you attacked.

There are no sideboards, but there need to be I think. Only two things can really screw Poncelet up, flame traps (Stun all characters that cost...2 or less...or was it one...doesnt matter) and Berserker rage wolvering, who's a 7 drop. Seven is about the highest you will see in this game.

Anyway, I think it's a pretty neat game...give it a try people.

You can't return...

Well Christ unless I get a job I don't think I can ever return to normal sleeping times. What is it, fucking 5:30am? Bloody hell I can't sleep. I can already imagine how this will rape anything (jobs, classes) I try in the morning, I mean heck I had another dentist appointment at 9:45am yesterday and it was murder. I think I passed out when I came back, plus I had to drive like I was stoned there and avoid morning traffic.

Can anyone recommend good sleeping pills (Not the kind that'll kill me), because I don't think I can keep this up.

Oh yes in RO related news Jazzy hit 99 a while ago. A pity you can't do 99% tax, all that wasted experience could be used to benefit someone like me.

Halo is weird, I think the CE clan I'm trying out for is inactive or nigh dead, and there's a really tempting offer from a retail clan. Cept noobs play retail. All the clans that matter play CE, which I admit is on the whole better. Just the GIGANTIC cutdown on pistol leading (random too on CE) hurts. Switching between the two games constantly really bites, also almost no one plays CE at 5am in the morning EST. Seriously though if retail halo could well...include the F3 (show teammates option) and make rocket hogs like CE's, it'd be essentially the same to me.

Brady took the Gamecube away again for his girlfriend...two player Wario ware what is he thinking!

Man it was pretty damn lonely with just me and my mom for the past few days...good thing my dad came back and soon Kenny returns from diff eq in Baltimore. I think in all honesty my mother is sort of right, Kenny knows when shit will make a difference, I mean he got a damn 90 on the diff eq midterm. I don't even try until like 2 hours before the test. Most likely he WILL find work before me...

Listening: L'Arc en Ciel - The Fourth Avenue Cafe
Oh yeah, Otakon scored L'arc stateside! Too bad I can't go...well I could theoretically vanish for a weekend but my parents wouldn't buy it at all. Plus preregistration is over...and godamn it I want to go. Maybe I really should, just tell my parents I'll be returning to bmore for a weekend and pay at the door.

SIG

Well today I got to drive my brother to Vassar College so he can attend his last year of SIG, aka Summer Institute for the Gifted. I ALSO got to carry all his stuff as he waited in the crazy long registration line. It's really funny that I'm probably older than some of his counselors/RAs. I sure as hell don't look it. Oh yeah they finally redesigned the fucking t-shirts. Bout TIME, my god they were still using the design I had TWELVE years ago. Twelve years, third grade in elementary. Also Keshine brought his cello. HE NEVER plays his cello at home, why the hell would he bring it there?

Anyway that's not what I was thinking about though. I was thinking about what Keshine is going to do AFTER his third year at SIG. He's going to CTY (Center for Twisted Youth) at Saratoga Springs. Now THAT gets me thinking. CTY was like paradise, and the wealth of my summers were spent there. I have lots of fond memories of the place. Keshine's growing up, is all I can say. I should apply to be an RA next year.

Success!

Well I am now a licensed New York State driver. Go me. My right turns are too wide, and the trunk wasn't closed securely. But besides that, no problems.

I think Peter might have started noticing my attempts to short hop...I started neutral airing/forward airing really close to the ground all over the place with Marth against his Shiek and it was covering my back a bit also (hit him quite a bit). Plus it's good to edge guard/smash away. I still stick to standing smash against Keshine, cause he's a noob who only uses up+b with Link.

Oh yes, For you Metal Gear Solid players

WHAM!

So today on our weekly drive of happy fun to the Newburgh testing site I was doing the normal laps when WHAM a bird hit my half open driver's side window and dropped into my lap. I started freaking out considerably as it was alive and blinking it's eyes at me in my lap when my dad reached over and picked it up by a wing and tossed it outside HIS window. Now I feel sort of guilty not putting him gently outside, I think he might have hit the sidewalk.

Oh right my mom finally had had enough of my downstairs computing and finally ranted for like a good half hour during my Halo scrim on how on how "Anyone who plays as much games as I do online must be a bad person." etc, etc. Which is really weird cause there are LOTS of people who play more than me. The good thing to come out of this is she snapped and bought me a desktop wireless card. Cept that wireless SUCKS horribly for games. So the solution? Put the wireless in KESHINE'S pc instead of mine and just move the modem upstairs. That boy needs to learn electronics sometime, he kept whining to me on how the driver software didn't work. I pointed out that the OS was winxp and the instructions explicitly state that you have to install the card first before the software. He then whined about how none of the slots fit. When I pointed to the PCIS he whined he couldn't get the metal clamp off. After I pointed to the screw he whined that he couldn't get it in. One of these days I'm going to buy BOTH Kenny and Keshine computers except they'll be completely parts and they'll have to figure out wtf to do by themselves. I swear both of them equally electronically ignorant.

FUCK YOU RONALD REAGAN!

Well today was SUPPOSED to be the day of my road test but guess what? The test is postponed by TWO FUCKING WEEKS cause Reagan's funeral! Who the hell repeatedly checks the motor vehicles website for this shit? Not me...godamn it and my dad took a half day too from his crazy stressful hour away job just to sit in the passenger seat all the way to Newburgh when upon reaching we find a little taped on sign to the road test sign saying "blah blah POSTPONED SUCKERS! blah blah." Bah, right now I'm angry and it might sound ridiculously callous but couldn't he have waited say...a week to die? All those hours wasted driving around and now we get two more weeks of torture waiting and MORE driving around to Newburgh. Bastardness.

On a completely unrelated note SATSUKI is insane. I think I found the character I'm going to play in Melty Blood Re:ACT, cause easy chained supers into chained throw equaling 75% damage = love.

Guppy > Minnow > Fish > Flying Fish > Shark

Ok so I knew my sleep schedule was trash and the entire night yesterday was spent listening to my mom make wild accusations while I had music and headphones on so I decided to attempt to sleep "early." Two nights ago I tried to sleep at midnight and laid in bed for two and a half hours doing nothing. Yesterday I tried to sleep at 2:00 am and...laid in bed for even longer doing nothing. I distinctly remember Keshine waking up in the morning and going downstairs for "you tiao", this Chinese sort of bread that you fry. Yet somehow it all worked out.

I managed to wake up at 11:00am, ate lunch, and went swimming with my dad and Keshine at 12:00pm. God I am so weak...swimming was something I used to enjoy and still enjoy, but I had trouble doing lots of laps...it was sort of sad. They've like graffittied the YMCA and now the hallways are painted in this ridiculous faux spray paint of skyscrapers. Still it was hilarious watching these three girls, Keshine and my dad all really suck at diving. I mean REALLY suck. Keshine sort of slid in without the arch (it works I guess since he's short), but like the girls and daddy jumped in without straightening their legs. It was really stupid looking. I don't know how I looked, but I sort of felt that my diving owned theirs. I got to swim more often...if only I had a swimsuit in JHU.

su~!!!

I think I managed to trick a poor internet shopping company into sending me three webcameras for the price of one. One is probably in the hands of hobos, one I think is at the apartment in Baltimore that my stupid brother refuses to touch, and the last one is right here, in my hands.

Yay persistence.

Anyway, of course the very first thing I did, after failing to install the software properly because the demoshield installer didn't work at all for some mysterious reason, was use like the bare bones amcap and point the camera at the screen. Of course that's the first thing I'd do...what you'd point it at yourself? Pffft.

Anyway here's the shot of the craziness:

I also took a way blurry pic that will suffice until I take clean pictures, i.e. never i.e. this blurry pic will be on the net until 2099. Can you say "not photogenic."

Anyway more calls, more wait fool we'll call you tomorrow/next week/never. Bah I'm so unprepared for the job market.

Doko miteru no?

Well, Melty Blood Re:Act is interesting, to say the least. It's funny how I only knew of the bread and butter infinite in the original game by reading a guide of the sequel. Anyway we got six new characters, two or so that I haven't even seen (Neko-Arc, Executioner Ciel). The other four are Ren, White Ren, Aoko Aozaki, and Satsuki. I've been playing on easy so I don't really get to see the crazy moves some of these people have (like Aoko), but Satsuki is really easy to combo. Ren/White Ren, on the other hand, is NOT easy to combo. Hell her standing C isn't bufferable at all. Evidentally Neko-Arc is god, but that's sort of hard to imagine cause Neko-Arc is a little shrimp Arc with cat ears. Executioner Ciel is always without the nun habit, her 7 scriptures is always out and she has perma hyper armor.

Anyway at least they toned the crazy Chinese martial artist shrimp girl down. My god half a super meter for 80% damage that's unblockable in the air = no. Also I am warming to Ren/Satsuki. Satsuki is MUCH easier to use, and hits very VERY hard, Ren seems to have more finesse. I'll post more pictures of the game but for now you'll have to look at lots of Ren:

Edit: Agh large images rape this tepmlate like a Japanese school girl, I'll just post links.
Akiha reversed vs White Ren
Ren drops the cake on j00!
Ren's blood heat super vs white ren...think instant hell murder after she changes into her nightie =D

WTF MATE?

So yesterday at like...10pm I'm writing away to Kenny, who already returned to JHU and who has been complaining on how my apartment's kitchen is nasty, when the doorbell rings. I open it, and there stand Helena, Patty and Jason. I think they ranked about dead last in the "Who I expected to ring my doorbell at 10pm" poll. So of course what else could I do but go with them. It had been a good...two three years since I saw any of them. Suyen joined us later. Jason was really right in saying that there should be 5 year high school reunions, cause at like 10-20 everyone's mellowed out. Five years you're still sharp and vindictive and that leads to hilarity. Anyway everyone was required to tell a story or so. Jason did spend a year in Australia, Patty is for all intents and purposes engaged, and Helena spent the year in Russia. Suyen's been on a roller coaster of emotions. Anyway some of them are rather private, so I'll relate Jason's story for laughs.

Jason is at an airport in Australia, when this big man comes into the restroom and starts yelling for everyone to open their bags. It's not a policeman or anything and he's well big, so Jason ignores him because he's afraid he's going to rob him. Anyway the man like screams at him four times and then finally adds, "I'm not going to rob you I just want you to open your bag." So Jason opens his bag really slowly and close to him, says "See nothing in here," then walks out. So he gets about yay far from the restroom, when the big man runs outside and yells "Stop!" Jason runs. And runs and runs outside the airport, through the streets of Sydney I think, and the man is chasing him. He was wearing these weirdo sock shoes, and they fall off in front of him while he is running, so he scoops them up, but now he's running barefoot through the streets of Sydney and avoiding broken glass and crap. Anyway he runs like four five blocks to an intersection, and the man catches up to him. And proceeds to charge into him, throw him into the street and kick him multiple times and spit on him. Basically beat the crap out of poor Jason. And then he grabs Jason by his bag and literally DRAGS him back to the airport. All the while the oh so great Australians are offering the man help like, "You can use my mobile to call the police." Anyway back at the airport it seems someone walked into the female restroom, took this man's wife's purse by reaching over the stall, and emptied it in the men's bathroom. So anyway the police are like "You know what we do with people like you?" And poor Jason's just sitting there saying, "I just ran cause he yelled stop and he looked aggressive!" while this guy is there with his wife the entire time eyeing him. Anyway the man has to catch a flight, and like 4 hours later the police are like, "Well you have 6 dollars, a cellphone you claim is yours, and nothing else, so we guess you didn't take it." The man still thinks he stole it but he has to get on a plane anyway and leave. And that's the story of how Jason almost got arrested in Australia. A funny sidenote is the stories in the Aussie papers of human rights abuses against foreigners who commit crimes in Australia. In fact those were the main headlines of the week during that time, so it didn't make Jason feel any better.

Personally I'd have asked the man's address/phone number and sued the crap out of him for assault, but that's just me.

Even Buddha would show no mercy after being slighted twice.

Yesterday I played ultimate for the first time since...probably last year summer. Predictably, that means I get to be sore all day today. They weren't even trying, it was sort of sad that I, the most out of shape one, was really trying the hardest for my team. I mean I KNOW Kenny excercises more than me, but he could not be bothered to run down a frisbee? Same with both teams actually, I think Darren was the only one actually doing anything. Oh yeah, Alfred looks like a hippie, and what's with the sport headband? Too weird. Didn't know the rest of the asians/two white kids that played with us.

On to this morning. Samurai Champloo...it's got something going to it. Compared to say though, the first episode of Cowboy Bebop? Not that instant of a winner but good enough. The opening is bleah? Jap Rap is bleah! Ending is kind of nice... The entire show is done really weirdly, like it itself is a "hip-hop" song, turntables, cuts, rewinds, scratches, it makes for a very stylistic type of show, but I'm not sure if us Americans and our "hip-hop" engrained culture will appreciate it.

Fossilman with the glasses that peer into your soul

Today I went to get the stitches and medical dressings removed from my mouth that were both put in there since the surgery. Thank god cause I HATED eating with those things in, and I hated brushing with them in, and I hated flossing with them in also. Medication is empty, or SHOULD be empty, except for the small fact that I missed a dose sometime last week and there is one pill left. I have to use a different brush for the affected areas and still use that special mouthwash, but a large burden has been removed from my mouth.

In other news, holy crap at the World Series of Poker...we might have another pokerstars winner. Greg Raymer, aka fossilman, is owning up the competition. There were actually two high ranked pokerstars players, 1st and 3rd, but Fossilman ate 3rd place! I use the term ate cause fossilman is fat XD. Really fat. He also wears these hilarious sunglasses (different color each day) that scare the crap out of me. Anyway good luck to him.

Also Kenny and co. (Brady from home, Matt from Jhu) managed to land one of their group into respectable prize money. Brady came in seventh in a one dollar tourney with 619 people, meaning he won twenty or so dollars. Also, Kenny managed to waste every single dollar he had saved/won (like 15) over the course of yesterday and today because he was playing morons. Morons that stay in with 56os with a preflop raise and get river straights. Incidentally, the tournament Brady was in, the final hand was 27os vs like AQ two sevens came down. Just a hilarious way to end the idiocy. Pokerstars I swear you rig your godamn cards.

If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman

Anyway, nothing much to update just that a certain SOMEONE is godamn bored out of her mind and wants to read bloody new material.

I completely lack mobility (i.e. a car) during the day thus preventing me from getting job applications.

Anyway besides that, I decided to check up on the company that I had ordered a webcam about a MONTH ago that was stolen by hobos. I am suspicious now, cause when I called the guy and gave him the order number and name, he was like we'll ship it as soon as we can to your new address.

This, after like weeks of no contact other than "We are waiting the results of the UPS tracer." Methinks they sat on their hands until I took action.

So yeah there is a high likelihood you'll see grainy crap pictures of me soon.

What else, oh right, I remembered by pokerstars password. With the world series of poker going on holdem's pretty interesting to me again. I watched the final tables of like all the holdem events. In all seriousness the ridiculous size of the field has raped like almost all the professional players there. Doyle lost to a godamn noob who raised him after Doyle said all-in. What a moron, that guy deserves to be shot. I wonder who the new no-name champion will be...

You are a doof Soojin

Holy crap Soojin has a blog! Then again everyone has a godamn blog I suppose my surprise should be pretty low.

Anyway yeah back to oh so fun RO again. Someone's late birthday present, basically we all become slaves to him for two hours. Anyway it was sort of poorly organized, but the lucky duck got a Ray card, so it is all good. I've also scored 24 obbs so far it's pretty nice. In all seriousness it's pretty silly why I play this game...I play because of the people I met throught it. And that's why I pay perfectly good sandwich money every six months or so to continue watching bots and scripts steal my items.

In other news, Phillips fell through and Jhu internship openings equal zilch. I have a bad feeling about this summer.

KILL

Woah. Didn't know that Ragnarok Online could be fun. Anyway are good dictator/organizer in charge Go!!/Jack organized a guild hunt (second one) in which we went to Castle 2. Holy hell we raped the shit out of that place hardcore. Jazzy warned caution but with no Baphomet in sight I just clicked on anything I saw, Mysteltain, Abyss Knights, whatever was moving died. I also hit 88, haha a year for 88 god I suck.

Hm on my surgery they left this medical dressing in my mouth that was supposed to last a week. Well both the inside parts fell off within one day AND I SWALLOWED one of them trying to eat a pizza (stupid Kevin, hard crusts are not on the list of allowable things). So I don't know what is going to happen with those.

Thirdly, my mother postponed my already late job application by two days...I don't think I'm getting tech work this summer >_<. I don't want to work at Walmart damn it.

This taste in my mouth...

Surgery done. Can't rinse can't spit can't use straws can't eat hot or cold things can't brush the affected areas.
Have to take painkillers ever 12 hours and other antibiotices every 8 hours and some weird special mouthwatch cleanser deal starting tomorrow.

Total cost, $1,900, insurance pays...200$.
Our insurance sucks, I need a job.

Wednesday, May 19, 2004

Faster than a speeding bullet...

So my gum surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at like 2:15pm. Oh joy I can already envision the suckage.

I also watched the season finale of Smallville, which made...no sense to me because I don't watch TV! But all I can say is Chloe blew up, which is sad, cause I was fond of her character the five times I watched the show.

What else...oh yes, Kao Megura of Gamefaqs died. That's just too fucking weird. And wrong. I have at least five of his faqs on fighting games, and to think he is dead... It's really odd, this mortality thing. May he rest in peace.

Do it Rockapella!

Of particular note to you losers who read this trash is the CD Kenny lent me on the train to listen to. It was called BOCA, or best of college acapella.

There was some NICE stuff in there...I liked the song "Yellow", uh one whose title I didn't know (I only knew Yellow cause it's particular favorite of Kenny's nonacapellaed), and one with "China....all the way to New York."

However, the really crazy shit was the last track. Trance acapella. I was like...what the fuck these guys are cheating! But nope, they were imitating synths and everything...it was realllly creepy cause you knew people were making these sounds with their mouths...but they really shouldn't be able to.

Edit: And you know what THAT means...it means I'm going to be looking for the mp3s and then SPAMMING ALL OF YOU! EVERY LAST ONE. Hahahaha and you can have the song stuck in your head for eternity.

And I hear violins....

And so I hit home, after carrying my computer across state lines in a barely fitting suitcase and my monitor in a gigantic box. Also returned my poor deceased cube home, to make sure it is really deceased (it is, but I think I could fool EB into accepting it)

Brady stopped by to donate his cube =D, and I proceeded to try to wave dash in smash. I failed miserably...I can wave dash ONCE...but getting multiple times just...it's hard...

I have sort of a wary feeling of this summer, seeing as I don't have anything lined up yet to do. Whatever I guess I should start doing what Brady's doing, applying to every stupid working place around here...we'll see.

On other notes, NY is so much cooler than baltimore...thank god...cause there's no fan in the computer room (I can't use it upstairs as the modem has permanently moved downstairs and I have no wireless card for my desktop)

Also I think I might? have damaged my ears in playing Isuka OST too loud (Can already hear the "You stupid person" from a certain someone) I can feel a muffle effect, like a dampener on them preventing me from hearing normally...

We have lift-off

Well it's finished, it's 2am, I leave at 11am for home. AI final was done...half assed, if I had attended class I probably would have aced it...meh oh well. Anyway...yeah gained experience for the first time on iRO in a long time...nothing much more to write...need a job...have to pack.

It's really hot.
Almost enough to drive a man crazy.

Dun dun dun dunnnnn (reference to a short story August Heat)

T-minus four hours and counting

So yeah it is 5am...anyway...Resident Evil 4 wants me to revive my cube even more. MAGNUM IN THE FACE ROCKET LAUNCHER INTO MONKS. Yeah that fucking trailer rocks ROCKET LAUNCHER INTO MONKS!

I am finally starting to watch all this SSBM footage that I recently acquired and I must say...lots of surprising things. Also finally visited the infamous SWF boards, which seem to have spawned every player to ever win a SSBM tournament.

Surprising things:
Tier wise
Marth is good...but I didn't realize he and Sheik are tied for just pure godness. No weaknesses for either, equal matchup with each other...Evidentally Marth's air game is second to none...from what I've seen he can short hop this really quick double swipe that just about stuffs any other air to air move. Also his forward smash makes edge guarding too easy. His range is DECEPTIVELY long...and considering the tip is the sweet spot, it just makes the deal sweeter. He has a down poke that hits ridiculously far and can be used for shoving you off ledges also. Counter is used sparsely (as it should be), it's like that parry in 3s that throws the other guy's tempo off. Up throw most common most useful cause it's a guaranteed air slash combo follow up. Seems like it's very easy to combo in the air too, f.air(forward air) is guaranteed to combo into another fair or u.air or whatever.
Sheik's darts are annoying as all hell...can't be reflected...truly useful for pissing people off. Her air down a air up a and her down smash are her main weapons, her smash seems to be mainly a combo ender. Down throw most useful from what I have seen.

The space animals (Fox/Falco) and Peach make up the top high tier. No surprise, for they rape everything else. Lots of short hop blastering and shine spikes and shine infinites! (they do exist) make the space buddies a crazy pair. Against Marth though the space animals get up thrown a lot...by a lot I mean 56% or so for free if you manage to snag them at 0% with Marth's throw.
Peach's down smash is illegal, too good. Also her float cancel ability which lets her recover than everyone else L-cancelling is useful, and she can float near edges to just kick your ass. Turnips are fun...fast and very good!

High tier is where some of the surprises come from.
Samus
Captain Falcon
Ganondorf
Mario
Dr. Mario
Jigglypuff
Luigi

Samus is interesting. I don't have much good footage on her, and the SWF people don't seem to either, but they agree that she's good. I find it hilarious that her grappling beam displaces any edge hoggers automatically, and that her bomb jumps enable her to come back from like 500 feet away.
Falcon: Like a space animal...just no lasers and no shine...still very good...his crazy air knee seems to be his best move and easily comboable. Crack rabbity fast, as always.
Ganon: Damn...the ganon footage I have is top notch. I bet this Eddie person is the best Ganon player in the US...somehow managing to go toe to toe with Sheik and the crack animals very well. Truly impressive to watch this player and his Ganon in action. A note, you can chain down throws on Sheik...but Sheik can do the same on you =D
Mario: Didn't know he was so high...I don't have much footage or strategy for him cept caping people off ledges =D
Dr. Mario: Wth? Really? Surpsing as all fuck. I have NO Dr. Mario footage.
Luigi: I sort of guess from how the CPU played him but...again no footage.

E3

I have been COMPLETELY ignoring my AI final and have sat in two videogame hubs (Vgm and smash) two days straight getting E3 footage. There's four insiders divided amongst the two hubs, so videos from ign are quickly shared. And there's at least one guy who LIVES in cali. But yeah, enough talk...order of the day...

It's nice to know tourney level smash 64 is well...like how I played smash with Kenny and Peter in the old days. It's not really mindnumbing, it's all standard. Except for Isai's pika...but I think I'd be able to KO at least 2 times out of 6...those people he was fighting didn't seem to know any of the oh so easy chains. (suplex suplex suplex) In fact Isai's pika was just really really good at edge guarding/aerial wars, he would extend himself off the platform more than Kirby could just to keep you off and could warp safely back.

No, what really impressed me was this guy's MARIO. While kirby and pika are pretty easy to figure out their strategies and we did for ourselves (me kenny brady), mario...hell...this was Mario played to perfection. And it was different, it used different combos, plus it tauntdashed a lot to annoy you with his sounds =D.

SSBM is no contest. I hate to say but it's a much more advanced game...and there are a LOT of more advanced tactics then just...roll around and jump in air and manouver and throw chains into smash. Wavedashing to go under lasers...Marth's Up throw against fox/falco chain, Short hop lasering...wall bombing o.Oa, so many things that I had no clue on during my ... rather short experience with the game. (Like a year before my cube died) But yeah, melee is really quite a beast.

E3. Capcom Fighting Jam. Reused sprites. Fuck you Capcom start fucking redrawing your shit you lazy assholes. Ever heard of GGXX? Wonder why it rapes CvS2? RE4. Downloading movie. Metroid 2...not exactly sure...deathmatch is...who knows it's metroid its NOT a shooter as the pennyarcade people like to bleat. Dark Samus looks nice though. Zelda...what can I say it's OOT shiny. I have yet to get the new Halo 2 trailer but godamn I want it.

Air down a into reflector into air down a into reflector into air down a into standing up a*2 into running smash

Two things, both Nintendo related.
First off, I finally got to see some SSBM footage of pros? Whatever good people. The Japanese again have made it a bloody art. The above mentioned combo was in a falco vs falco match, I must say it was awesome to see. Also the combo reflector*3 was unexpected, and I don't think it was quite...that simple. (I saw a last minute guard on the first one, the hexagonal white shield before he proceeded to reflector launch.) But yeah right now I have a whole shitload of SSBM videos, Japanese and American, and godamn I have to say Azen's Sheik is from holy hell.

Second thing...the DS's details...LOOK WHO IS FUCKING LAUGHING NOW ASSHOLES. The bottom screen is a touchpad/draw type deal, an example is baby Mario falling on the screen and you have to draw a cloud to save him. But that's minor. It is ALSO backwards compatible, which is sort of major but REALLY FUCKING COOL when hooked up with my next topic. The real deal is BLUETOOTH AKA WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY. Did I say wireless connectivity? YES I SAID WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY, NO CABLES FOR FUCKING MULTIPLAYER. It can do instant messaging also. My god, since everyone AND their mother (literally) has a gba in Japan...I can only imagine what the DS will do over there. Will we see random people playing multiplayer DS games at train stations? That would be...awesome. (Hey we're waiting for the train want to lose in four swords? You're on!)

But seriously god fucking damn Nintendo owned every loser who said, "It's just two screens put together!" It doesn't matter how powerful your handheld is (the PSP will be more powerful); you've got nothing on a Bluetooth touch/draw screen backwards compatible gameboy. Nothing.

Fuck, they could actually make just multiplayer games for a fucking handheld and people would buy them! I mean really how often did you get four players for four swords...(I don't have the cables, blah blah) Now ANYONE who has a DS can just join in...by being near you.

I didn't buy a gba...GOOD IDEA because all I have to get now is a fucking DS and I am set.

Unintelligent Design

Francis Crick goes to heaven.

This and the below link both stolen from lah.

Philo Smilo

American soldies punish a group of looters by running over their car with a tank.

Third time's the charm...

Well the hobos have done it again, officially.
While the microphone was a false alarm, hobos have definitely stolen my 20 dollar webcam.
Are you that hard up hobos?
Is every package that comes for Kevin O'Young ripped open and violated, inspected only briefly before deciding that you can sell the bloody parts on the street?

Damn you hobos, damn you.

Suppose you have just graduated from ALLBMES college...

And your parents want to know what you're doing since they've sunk 250,000 dollars into your ALLBMES education.
You have the choice of telling them that:
You work at a barely living wage job at Kmart dressed up as a clown saying, "Welcome K-mart shoppers."
You work at a company called Cheapphone.com where you are not paid in money at all, only foodstamps and stock options until the company makes it big.

During your interview at cheapphone, you are aggressively quizzed on your CNF knowledge. The type of network you are expected to support transfers typically 1000 packets per day, at about 1kbs per request. The company uses a 1Mbs line.

WHAT DO YOU TELL YOUR PARENTS AND WHY?

Answer: You tell your parents you work at K-mart as a clown, because at 1k packets per day at 1kb per request over a 1MBS line, traffic intensity nears ONE, which means delay approaches INFINITY.

The above easy ass question notwithstanding, the Computer Networking Fundamentals final kicked my ass. And not only my ass, but other's asses. But I think they got less ass-kicked. And now I have fucking philosophy final due tomorrow. God that's going to suck, I hate writing bullshit that I didn't create.

NOW PLAYING: GGXX ISUKA - LADY FASCINATION (Jam)
Password: cynical

The Irony of Chastity

T-3:30 hours, I'll go nap after this post.
Well, I have the GGXX Isuka soundtrack and I must say, Jam got a theme all to herself and I realllllllly like it.

But godamn THIS scares me.

What's that you say, if you can not read Japanese? Well who cares, cause the IMPORTANT THINGS are in English. What does the untrained eye see?

GGXX in LA VOCAL Edition. Scan the names. Korn, Linkin Park, Jay Gordon, Orgy. I love GGXX music, but adding english vocals? I'm not so keen on that...

I really wonder how they're going to pull off Awe of She, considering the Japanese vocalization of that is really...not Korn style. I want a good rendition...hell get a woman to do it damn it that'd be awesome.

Finals

T-seven hours and a half until my Networking final. Will I be able to pull a n00b and own it without doing jack?

Nahhhh.
::Scribbles more on his paper of reference::

On the subject of languages(inside a DC++ videogame music hub)...
You got Michif (which coincidentally was the language for my class final), which is a mixture of French and Cree, and pretty damn rare, and fading fast.

You have Klingon, which completely originates from a Television slow, but evidentally has its own words and grammar structure.

Now, talking about the usefulness of languages...someone got mocked for knowing Klingon. I mean right it is a language that completely originates from a show that many old time fans agree sucks absolute cock now. But like no one would mock you for knowing Michif. Do the number of Michif speakers exceed the Klingon speakers? I highly highly doubt it. So what is the "point" of a language near death or for the sake of creating a language?

Personally I believe that if someone makes a language, like a true language, not just replacing English words with jibberjabber (a dialect), then more props to them. Language is a beautiful thing, although hopefully we don't see Tolkeinites solely raising their children on Elvish anytime soon.

AHHHH

What have they done! I don't know just when I was getting used to the somewhat clean cold cut blue of blogger, they go and change it on me. And it's not just the main page, the entire thing, like what I'm looking at right now are muave beige buttons (rounded for sexiness or easy of display I know not) and random rounded rectangles of blue dancing (ok they're are sitting still) around my title.

I'm not sure I like the change...and this dashboard stuff...we'll see...

Edit: Comments? I'll try them out...Hopefully no one chooses this random site to mock mercilessly.

Further edit: The bloody Triangle exclamation mark has got to go when publishing.

Smile!

Just one random link, I'll do this more often.

You got Soup 2 ea.

Man, the more I think about it the more I think I could survive in a society completely based on thievery. Like when I was young I used to shoplift a lot, and I mean a LOT, because I had no allowance. Books, Magic cards, you name it. But it was namely books. Lots of books. I stole them from small bookstores, from libraries, from teacher collections. All because I had no money.

I like to think that I stopped once money became a large part of my life...but then again.

Today, some godamn fat lady was in the express lane checkout with like FORTY ITEMS. I was behind another lady in line and thinking, WHAT THE FUCK CAN YOU NOT READ! UNDER FIFTEEN ITEMS! NOT FORTY! And she was taking a bazillion years looking for her coupons and chatting it up with the cashier like she had all the time in the world. Well guess what, I didn't have all the time in the world, in fact the bloody JHU shuttle would probably have come at any second and if I missed it that's 30 more minutes to wait. So I got fed up and went into the automated scan section. This would mean I'd have to leave my soup behind. I was like to hell with the soup if I miss the shuttle because of that godamn fat lady I'd kill her by taking the 15 item sign down and smashing her over the head repeatedly while screaming "FIFTEEN ITAMS FIFTEEN ITAMS!" Anyway I finish really fast, and my soup is left. So I'm like...well hell it's in unmarked containers, there are no barcodes, and the automated scanner says nothing about soup in the produce/other section. So I walked out without paying for my soups.

I bet that lady plays the lottery every day because she's bad at numbers.

So what is it like to be free from Sir Cocksalot's presence?

Man Brennan indeed has a good friend in Jason, to be so concerned about his welfare. Anyway roommate Brennan moved out for the summer today. Man I am going to be doing a whole lot of uselessness this sumer pffft. I'm still not sure if I should stay home or come back here. If I stay here though I'll have my computer and Brennan will sortta agree to letting Kenny (younger brother) and his friend stay here. If I'm not Kenny's friend is without a house...I think he was sort of harsh on the boys but whatever he pays half the rent! Kenny said he stayed at his friend's house during spring break, but of course that really doesn't mean anything to Brennan, cause he hardly knows the guy, who by the way, is named "X". Yes X. It's his real name. Crackhead parents.

New advent children screenshot scans from Shounen Jump. Ooh Tifa ooh Vincent. Truth be told I always liked Tifa's story more than Aeris. Aeris however kicked Tifa's ass in the utility department. Fury brand is the sole reason I could get everyone's second level three by Nibelheim (and some level fours consequently like Cloud, Red XIII, Yuffie, etc.) Seriously Aeris + Cover Materia + Fury Stat + Mideel bugs = two hits limits for everyone else. Tifa was sort of meh in the utility, I mean those godamn slots are pfffft. I'll try getting all perfects one day again when I'm bored.

Vincent...he looks a bit girly, then again his polygonal self couldn't really reflect the inner bishie. Ok I lie, but Vincent will always fucking kick ass even if he is turned girly, because he is the guy that killed Emerald Weapon. Emerald had just broken my mime kotr loop, and I was about to have my ass handed to me, so I limited Vincent and just tried doing damage and living. Anyway Vincent sometime later slashes, bye bye Emerald, I laugh.

That lower right picture that I initially thought to be Yuffie most likely seems to be Marin/Marlene, Barret's daughter. Speaking of Barret he has like a bionic arm instead of a bloody hand cannon (literally!) for an arm. Also, Reno/Rude show up again. I'm not exactly liking the three stooges villains. Kadazzu, Yazzu, and Rozzu? Give me a godamn break Square. And I see GUNBLADES. Swords should not SHOOT THINGS.

Link spam time:
Ooh Tifa.
Midori no Hibi manga
Super Metroid in :58 with 100%
Whole bunch more crazy people playing games fast.
One of the worst stories told, with pictures.
Michael Moore is fast turning into an Al Sharpton like character. (Even more Disney had decided a YEAR ago it wouldn't show Fahrenheit 911. What a godamn poser. Oh noes so shocking! Just like the evil JANITOR who wanted to go home.)

li:cu-cabbage

Well good news bad news time. Good news is that I managed to finish my morphology take home final before the 5pm due date today, in fact I finished it an hour before. I also did not merely finish it, but I OWNED it. Good thing I took French, cause ALL the extra credit was French, and half the morphology syntax and phonology was too. Just for your information the final was on Michif, a weird crazy mix of Cree and French. Wacky stuff. Oh yeah my paper only was a B-, so it wasn't below threshold! Huzzah! Even shitty papers get breaks some times.

Bad news is the diff eq final schooled me. It schooled everyone, but I have a feeling it was really made just to school me utterly. I got the first problem completely right, I know that. The next five? Hell if I fucking know, I might as well have gotten 0's on all of them, they were that mysterious.

Anyway no finals Friday, so I get a break.

I sure hope Allen doesn't get mad at me for sending like 500000 people to his home site to download an mp3, speaking of said mp3, here it is. This song is the song from the Metropolis music video, and I must say I am absolutely in love with it now. It's been on repeat since this morning after the diff eq final. I honestly think it helped me own my language final, it's just so soothing, yet it prevented me from going to sleep and wasting time. It's *sob* beautiful. Still on repeat, I guess that's why I don't feel so bad now.

It's Sarda to the north!

Well, I finally can put faces to names for my iRO guild. What can I say...Tanzy is well...sort of what I expected her to be? >< What I DIDNT expect was miss perfect's picture and the fact she's only 13. Bloody hell that's in illegal territory right? Jazzy is...NOT what I expected. Not sure if that's good or bad. I don't know Go very well, but he oozes coolness from the one picture I saw. Taz is taz is first picture I saw and remember. Now if only I could see bean/sm/zed. Shifty little buggers they are.

I am a moron! I forgot this week was reading period cause you know what? AT LEAST ONE CLASS IN EACH OF MY PREVIOUS SEMESTERS HAD FINALS DURING READING PERIOD. Meaning I never really had a break to study during reading period, just strings of finals. So the philo final on Tuesday is NEXT Tuesday. Der. As is the rest of the bloody finals, next week, well they start this Thursday.

Let's see, Zed got pwned by sending me a link to the subservient chicken. That shit is old! Gloating over my link whoreness, I challenged Zed to find something quirky and NEW. He's one for four so far, having shown me walking in circles.com, which is a devilishly hard adventure game, to the point that I'm starting to hate it. I keep it always up in a window, and it's godamn natural cricket noises have woken me up when I've passed out.

So what am I doing these days? Besides envying that godamn n00b? I spent time reading up the history of the gamefaqs boards and how one board has been choked off of members because it is basically a cesspool of idiocy. It is the LUE board, or life, universe and everything. The only reason Cjayc doesn't completely destroy the board is cause the fallout would be enormous. Any user past 888113 can not ever see this board, and before it had a very very short registration period to choke off even more users (all who did not register can not see this board either). So I'm curious. Lots of e-drama and real life fallouts, who knew.

Jumped off a cliff

So I was thinking about this post the entire way back from handing in my World of Language paper. And I just realized that I feel worthless. Not the world is against me cut my wrists worthless....more like that guy in Sandman, I make no difference worthless. Cause seriously, the more I think about it, the more I'm sure I just burden the world. Think about some farmer in India growing his crops on some tiny piece of land for his family. He sure as hell ain't worth negative. His sons who help him in the field? Not worth negative either. What the fuck am I worth? -College tuition -SAT classes -rent food and clothing and shelter and insurance and dental. I am worth a gigantic negative to my parents and the rest of the world. I have never had a job, never MADE a substantial amount of money on my own. Like what do I have to show for it? One semester on the dean's list cause of easy classes and like a 2.3 GPA or something laughable like that? I'm not like say...John aka noob who manages to do jack and laugh at life and get 4 B's and and A. Would I kill for his grades? Nah, but would I pay one month's rent for them? Maybe, fucking maybe. Just to tell myself I'm not worth negative. Now he's graduated, what's he going to do? Probably get a job somewhere and play fucking games and enjoy life. Why is it so hard for me to concentrate on shit I dislike? It's like that kid in Naruto who's laid back, does shit, but gets by because he's fucking smart and does what comes natural to him. It'd be like if I made a million dollars every time I took the SAT or fucking killed someone in Halo. That'd be a godamn nice life, just taking SATs and playing games as a job. And why not? I felt a certain perverse joy owning those tests, I have to admit I was godamn enthusiastic about crushing their easiness. I can't feel that way with college work. The best I can do is have an experience like Japanese, where it's high school except HARD all over again with my surrogate asian mother making me feel so fucking ashamed at my shitty level of work and me studying like crazy for the first time in my life for a C+. And now the nicest TA in the world is going to get my Late world of language paper, actually read it, and realize what a piece of shit it is. And I'm going to feel like a negative again.

Enough emo for the rest of the year, time to fucking not let my programming partner down and TRY to kill the take home language final so I can save some face.

There has been no voter fraud

It's funny how people can get so worked up over something silly...like an internet poll.
Gamefaqs currently has a contest running which plays like March Madness. You pick your bracket, choose a winner, win a prize (a good one too!). Except the competitors are games, and the way to determine who wins are voter polls.

Yesterday was Starcraft vs Halo. Already the shit-talking and stupidity notorious of Gamefaqs's forums has reared its ugly head. With both sides, but mainly Halo users claiming voter fraud, Cjayc, the man himself (owner) had to come down from his lofty perch in heaven or what not and sooth the masses.

Anyway a last ditch campaign by the entirety of the english bnet to spam the asia bnet, and thus Koreans, resulted Starcraft winning by like 300 votes out of 110k cast. Talk about razor slim.

Welcome back Mister Anderson...we missed you

The weirdest shit plays through my head during finals/tests.
Like my last networking midterm?
All I remember was that some fucked up shit was playing through my head...I think it was...Midori no Hibi...or something, on a loop, distracting the hell out of me.

Today? Today I was the most focused I have ever been in that stupid class, I think I did ok.

In other news, philo paper back, B.
Not enough to save the rest of the semester from dismal C, but not bad enough to fail the whole thing.
Hume's my thing I guess, fuck the metaphysicists.

And now? Now I have one of the shorts from the ridiculous Newgrounds wide "The Matrix has you" compilation, in particular, that one picture with 5 smiths, one playing with yoyos, one playing street drums, another doing a russian dance, and I forget the other two.

True update, i.e. the crap you don't care about

So anyway I have an endterm this morning, I have a paper on the grammar and sentence structure of Slovak due what thursday, and I have a program on Bayesian robot escape due this upcoming monday.

Need I say more?

Right, my philosophy paper on Hume...my god I hope I did well, or I have failed the bloody class. Speaking of Hume, I had a pretty intense conversation with Lah on philosophical matters...it wasn't long, like our normal conversations in real life, but it felt nice to do some intellectual exercise after so long. Yes differential equations is not fucking intellectual exercise, neither is college itself.

Oh yeah my mom just got the word that a student was killed and freaked out, called me at some really late time and told me that I should come home for the summer if I'm not doing anything....which is highly possible...but hell if I want to go home that badly...

Even more laggy entries.

Spring fair happened this weekend. Let me first start off by saying CRAB CAKES ARE OVERPRICED CRAP. Not specifically crap, but not worth your money. Ok so crap as a word works. Along the same vein, BUTTERFLY POTATOES DO NOT COUNT AS A MEAL. AND POORLY MADE GYROS DONT EITHER. I think the only really fulfilling food I had there was the stick meat and lo mein. Oh, and the curry, but that had to be eaten in stages. I frequently forget that while I love curry, my tolerance to large amounts is very very low.

I also read a !new! book for pleasure for the first time in like half a year. It was two dollars. Gibson's Idoru. For the unintiated Gibson wrote Neuromancer. Idoru is Idol In Japanese (borrowed word). Perfect combination right? I took the book (400 pages) from 1pm to 8pm and finished it. Pretty good, but I'm not sure if it was a bit of shallowness I detected in relation to the Idoru herself. She wasn't exactly fleshed out too well, being a artifical intelligence construct.

STUPID RANDOM LINK TIME:
Final Fantasy A+
13 bloody acres...if everyone lived like me they'd need 2.9 planets. What the hell I have a godamn 700 square feet apartment with a roommate and I don't use cars or public transportation and I still take up 13 ecological acres?

Protecting bodily waste in the public domain.
All those tech-savvy people out there drawing a comparison to a certain company?

Oh yeah, because it seems like I send way too many fucking links being a flash whore and what not, I'll just post them here and make the bloody damn thing public...since noob found it anyway.

You know you are out of touch when...

Evidentally classes from 10-12pm are cancelled tomorrow. Why? Because someone broke into the SigEp frat house right next to campus and stabbed a kid of my year. He died yesterday.

Shit like this really gets you thinking of mortality you know? I mean everyone has friends here who have been robbed, some at gunpoint, and the daily crime news listings you see inside McCoy and other places are depressing, but you never really think it'll hit that close to home.

Like sometimes I walk around late at night, this happened early Saturday morning. Suppose I had gone to rofo or something I could have passed this guy in the dark. I live farther from campus than the kid did, in fact I pass the SigEp frat house every day when I go to class.

This scares the shit out of me.
I don't think I'll be going out late night for a while.

On a sidetrack I didn't even KNOW about this until my roommate told me today. I did not know someone was stabbed and I did not know that the class cancellation was for a memorial service. I need to get out more...

RAPE THE SYSTEM!

Long update:
Anyway

1. Hager's computer vision assignment owned me. I could sort of see how to make sense of it, I just couldn't find a framework of anything to go upon. So with that, owned.

2. Diff eq's second midterm also owned me. I will now REQUIRE myself to attend every class, whether to just sleep and hear like 3 seconds of the lecture, it's better than what I do now.

3. The second philosophy paper completely destroyed me. Not worthy of passing? Worse than the first one? HOW? I now have to beg my brother's friend to email/send his second paper over to see what I did wrong, cause I thought it was better than my first. The fact that it was viewed as WORSE sends me a message that I have the wrong idea when I write philosophy papers.

4. Heh why do 5 year olds run private ragnarok online servers. I was threatened with banning because I killed wraith deads. Oh noes! 10,000k x 15 = 150,000k exp = .15 million experience PER wraith dead? Go to guild dungeon, kill wraith deads = level 99? Godamn idiots.

5. Reads Sean's blog, didn't know that the Tanzy thing was that serious o.Oa. Poor Val, work things out Jazzy.

6. iRO has 2-2 and sp regen patch and Juno...given my last experience with privates...I think I might just jump on Sakray. (2x too!)

7. Halo...well the mic wasn't stolen by my mail robbing hobo friends who took my modem and graphics card, they probably threw it back after realizing it was eight dollars.

8. I got to really make MY priorities straight, Jazzy says screw you to that, but I consciously know it's slowly ruining my life, inch by inch. This computer is responsible for my poor grades, my health problems, my general shitty quality of life. And yet I could not do without it...is this what drug addiction feels like? I think I can sympathize now...

9. How To Gag On 'The Passion'
Nine fun-filled ways Mel Gibson's brutal snuff film makes a mockery of true belief. Clip n' save!

I am stupid

Well screw me can the thieves NOT steal my packages every time they get sent to my apartment? Hell this time it was an EIGHT BUCK MICROPHONE.
For the love of Christ, CAN YOU JUST LAY OFF?

Fuck it I should have known fuck it I should have known FUCK it I should have known better.

I want the old shooters, the kind where you can shoot enemies when they show up, not wait for 99999 bullets to be on the screen to rack up points

The espgaluda soundtrack is FINALLY mine! Bwahahahaha. On another note, Progear no Arashi is cute as hell...although it's sort of depressing. There's two couples and if you mix them (i.e. girl with other guy, guy with other girl), like the other two DIE or something. Both of those endings are definitely sad, one with Rivet and Ring visiting a grave, the other with Chain crying into Bolt's chest. However if you choose the right couple mix you get really cute endings. Ring and Chain getting married or Rivet and Chain both holding babies! while their respective husbands and Nall look on. I mean it's the story of a bloody shooting game but it's soooo cute.

The romantic part of the my title isn't a joke.

A bloody mess

Well Iraq has officially become crap. How could we have handled the aftermath so terribly. I'm saying this because there's an 18 year old Japanese volunteer worker being held hostage who will be burnt alive in three days unless Japan withdraws the SDF. 18...godamnit maybe we are morons, but shit some people should never have existed, and they're the one's doing this shit.

It makes me mad. I almost want to just leave the entire shit alone and just have it the lawless shitty place it is and make it spontaneously combust.

Suddenly this world depresses me.

Might not be so bad...

I am warily hopeful about Mastiff's La Pucelle localization. Mastiff's mainly known for shovelware, and when the title of the game was revealed to be La Pucelle tactics instead of whatever the Japanese originally meant, most people just wrote the entire thing off. Hopefully they'll do a good job, ok they BETTER do a good job, I do NOT want godamn half Japanese half english battle sounds, no matter how funny "WHO DA MAN" and "SHAZAM" sound the first fifty times, they make one murderous by the 1000th time. Even worse I do NOT want to hear Flonne's english VA.

I didn't even read enough to figure out Culotte was a guy...what kind of Japanese fanboy am I. Here's the english site. The mp3? or midi on that site is beautiful...which is why I am again downloading another Tenpei Sato soundtrack. I swear though...is there a recycled battle theme from Disgaea or Phantom Brave in there? There has to be...and if I am correct, pffft on mister Sato for that. Art style isn't Harayada's, but Ryoji's. It's like the anti Harayada XD. To combat Harayada's flat characters? XD Anyway I really like their mix of styles, I think the succubi and the nekomatas were also done by Ryoji in disgaea while the human characters were pretty much entirely Harayada's work.

Anyway here's to a hopefully excellent localization of another nippon1 game.

Ok I'll bite and do one of those stupid now listening things.
Now listening: The Legend of the Light Saint - La Pucelle - Tenpei Sato
I think I already like Eclair

That's a cute dog.

You know, when people talk about the capitalist machine and how we are mindless consumers etc. etc., it really never strikes me as a serious problem. But GODAMN sometimes you just want to punch those assholes in marketing.

Do not, under any circumstances, allow President Kennedy to go to Dallas

I swear Bash is the biggest timewaster out there. It's 3:50am, I should have gone to sleep hours ago or risk missing class as I ALWAYS do on monday, but yet I'm reading lists of 100 quotes each and laughing. Stupid internet.

Gaki, gaki, gaki

Now that I have figured out Sol's dust loop actually needs a kick also, I think I'll go kick gold Slayer and gold Justice's asses. "Kono gaki, gaki, gaki, gaki, gaki, gaki, volcanic viper."

Zee Germans, Part II

Evidentally while I was in my private server land, my iRO guild managed to piss off the entire German speaking population of International Ragnarok Online. The reason? They helped defend a guild hall from the entire German alliance. Ok not enough? Their party name was "Zee germans are coming." Evidentally the Germans found it offensive and mass spam private messaged the entire guild for the duration of the War.

I'm so damn proud /sniff.

Don't join privs, the always die!

I should have seen it coming. Hell I KNEW it was coming, but I was hoping it wouldn't happen anway. Gothicro got rollbacked to like last or two weeks ago. What matters is, level 99 wizard gone =D. Well, I guess this is why I play iRO.

I left them, and came with you!

Man another week another barely survived...anyway I had been neglecting overlocked lately, as my small selection of songs was sufficient. But it pays to check that site regularly, cause you get gems like this. For the enlightened, that's JEREMY SOULE supporting remixing as a legitimate art form. Chances are you've played one of the games he's done music for. Morrowind? Dungeon Seige? Knights of the old republic? Yeah this guy's orchestral kicks ass. Even the hilariously out of place OH NOES MY FARM IS UNDER ATTACK BY LITTLE GREMLINS THAT DIE TO A WHOPPING SHOVEL theme in dungeon seige.

I'm not an addict!

Well screw me I've been hitting private ro servers again. And hell they keep getting wiped or crash and I STILL relog and play them. I hit 96 in two days, could hit 99 but guess what server crash! If this one does a complete erase I'm definitely returning to iRO and not playing privs again. Wastes too much time, like homework time.

Just for the fun of it I'll list everything wrong with this server:
Free stat skill reset, resets platinum skills also, giving infinite skill points.
Berserk pots have been lowered to 1k, meaning a merchant with oc/dc can buy them discounted for 750 in bulk and sell them at like 2.5k a piece, meaning very fast money.
Armor and card merchants.
Golden gear makes you immune to physical attacks. Complete rape of mvps by novices.
Golden thief bug card makes you immune to magic...hello invinicibility?
